On January 17th, 13 Boulder High Model UN students flew to Vancouver, Canada to participate in an international conference for the first time. Prior to the start of the conference, there was a day of sightseeing in and around the city. This included visiting the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia.
Boulder High students historical councils on the Russian Revolution, Margaret Thatcher’s cabinet, and the Austrian Wars of Succession as well as contemporary subjects such as food security, securing nuclear weapons, NATO and a future water crisis. Overall, there 1,400 delegates at the conference. Two Boulder High students won awards: Joshua De Oliveira – Council of People’s Commissars, Leon Trotsky – Best Researched. Andrew Tomusiak – IAEA – Nigeria received an Honourable Mention
